The Wood Street Gallery is one of six galleries operated by the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. The gallery showcases contemporary new media artists from all areas of the world. The gallery opened in 1993 and has two floors for installation exhibitions and performing events.

Space is another visual arts gallery owned by the Pittsburgh Cultural trust. It offers working space to promote contemporary technologies of local artists outside of the region. Space provides labor, technology, funding and guidance to new artists to execute their ideas and works. It exhibits five to six shows annually. Space hosts regular experimental projects, openings artist’s talks and special events.

Shaw Galleries is located in the heart of the cultural district of Pittsburgh. They are known as Pittsburgh’s history store selling over 4,000 old maps, antique prints, artwork and more. Kaurt Shawstarted the gallery in 2007. Extensive research goes into identifying each print, photograph and map. Many of the artifacts can be purchased on line.

The Slaughterhouse Gallery is a group of working artists and home of Jones Furniture Designs. The building is located in Lawrenceville, PA. It was a hog and cattle slaughterhouse back in the early part of the century. It is currently an artist studio working space. Painters, sculptures, blacksmiths and others rent their space in the building.

Four Winds Gallery is a quaint little gallery and shop with a lot of heart. Established in 1974, this Southwestern Native American gallery features traditional crafts and artworks including jewelry, pottery, weaving, sculpture, paintings, prints, folk art, and photographs. Each piece has its own story with a contemporary flair. The gallery also has a collection of vintage wood furniture by the famous George Nakashima and his daughter.

Master Galleries is the largest inventory of paintings and limited edition works on canvas and paper in the city of Pittsburgh. It began its journey in 1970 at Seven Springs, Pennsylvania. This ever-growing company now has three locations all around Southwest Pennsylvania. ToonSeum is a small museum and gallery built on the notion of celebrating the art of cartooning. Lactated in Pittsburgh's Cultural District, this 2 room museum has original prints from Charles M. Schulz, Jim Davis, Stan Lee, Bil Keane, Don Martin, Johnny Hart, Jim Davis, Dik Browne, Lynn Johnston, Mort Drucker, Jack Davis, and even the creaters of Spongebob Squarepants. The kid's room is geared toward comic book superheroes. Their mission is to promote a deeper appreciation of the cartoonists and their work.

Located in Garfield section of Pittsburgh, Garfield Artworks is a trailblazer for galleries in the Pittsburgh area. Its features works of art mainly from local artists but many from outside the region. The works range from classic to contemporary and eclectic. The Irma Freeman Center for Imagination

The Irma Freeman Center for Imagination got its name from the colorful artist Irma Freeman (1903-1994).  This German born Pittsburgh artist inspired many young people during her lifetime.  The center is now an arts and green energy community center.  Its mission is to enrich and diversify the local community, and create a positive and progressive environment through its art.  Classes as well as a gallery are few of the many programs offered at this center, and visitors are always welcome!

Mexico Lindo Mercado y Galeria de Artesanias or Mexico Lindo for short has had their doors opened in Squirrel Hill since 2004. It imports fine folk Mexican arts and crafts. Here you will also find an astounding variety of crafts representing the traditions and arts of many of Mexico's indigenous peoples, such as tinwork, ceramics, textiles and many more. Borelli-Edwards was established in 1978, originally in the North Hills region.  It was named after Ms. Borelli-Edwards, an art activist and esteemed curator.  In 2006 the gallery was moved to a 3-gallery space, two primarily for regional fine art and one for Japanese prints.  Artists from near and far exhibit their works in one of the green galleries.
